Every December I just can’t understand how we make it though those last 4 weeks leading up to finals. As science majors, the work load is intense! We have quite a few stories we want to share with you all since school is now out! To kick it off, we are sharing our quick trip (and by quick I mean a 36 hour trip) to Sedona and Prescott! While this trip was mostly all business, we stopped at some fun places! We didn’t realize how quaint and gorgeous Sedona is! The red rocks (rivaling our own here at home) look like they’re out of the Cars movie, the lack of light whatsoever (including stop lights) makes for a night sky studded with twinkling stars, and the natural feel of everything takes you out of the city and into a serene locale. See some of our pictures, favorite stops, and places to stay!
This week we went up to Tahoe for the Reno Tahoe open golf tournament. When we come up, the weather always seems to be perfect and everyone’s moods are in high spirits for the holiday weekend. When packing, I bring an assortment of those classic J. Crew shorts in bright colors, plenty of hats, and a selection of cool dresses. This little floral dress is so comfortable, easy to wear in the heat, and can easily be dressed up or down. For instance, I wore this around the tournament, to a dinner party, then running around the course to the music from the party tent up the hill. Summer is good, isn’t it?
It seems like whenever I go somewhere tropical I only pack swimsuits and flowy dresses. This flowy dress is perfect for the light warm breeze the Hawaiian afternoons bring. Its gauzy fabric blows so lovely in the wind and can be easily dressed up or down. I knotted the side so the bottom wouldn’t drag all over the rocky pathways. All you need is some dressy flip flops, a pulled back pony, and delicate earrings to look island resort ready.
January… all drizzly and gloomy calling for heavy coats and the courage to leave your warm bed. Practically everywhere, people are wishing for the sunshine to return. But that statement does not apply to Hawaii! Year long sunshine, warmth, and pineapples! Truly, how do I live anywhere else? The coldest times of the year, are the best times of the year to visit Hawaii! So that is why we planned a trip to Maui during January. Because honestly, is there a better place to hide away from the cold new year, continuous gym commercials, and the impending start of school?
A very Happy New Year from us to you! Hope you all had a fantastic night filled with lots of laughter, love, fireworks, and kisses! We are looking forward to the new adventures 2016 has in store for us. We’re starting off the year with a tropical getaway to Maui, Hawaii! Stay tuned for details of our trip. Since it has been in the 40’s-50’s here, we are just jumping at any opportunity to escape to a warm sunny beach! Wishing you all a fantastic start to the new year!♥
